Systemic Racism in Chess: White moves first.

A typical tactic of racists is to accuse the person who tries to reform potential racial overtones of any longstanding institution as being a racist, in order to make them cower socially and bully them away. If I propose that 1-2 pawns on each side be shield-maidens, amazons, or valkyries, are you going to accuse me of being a sexist? If I propose the bishop be renamed back to adviser, are you going to accuse me of being a religious right wing fundamentalist? Well done, everyone.

I always take the knee if I get white. I know historical and current racism are nothing to do with me but if I make a gesture I feel better about myself. That's also why I clap for the NHS 👏
