The Christmas Puzzle, Part One.

Three similar mating ideas here, but all take 6 moves.

1. e4 g5 2. Nf3 a6 3. Nxg5 a5 4. Qh5 a4 5.Qxf8 

That is incorrect. The last move is "NxR#" (see the first post).

This puzzle has defeated Kasparov, Karpov and Botvinnik.

How the hell am I gonna get it then?

Well, obviously to demonstrate how good he is, with a search engine.

Well, i think it was "legal" to post, because on the first post he said that people would only know when someone posted it, so i think i could do it.

And prawneatsprawn, are you saying nobody can solve it? I've seen this puzzle before, tried it a lot, got some ideas, but never solved it. So when i saw that puzzle again, i wanted to try again. I used the ideas i already had, tried more and more, and got to it.

Is tht the only way of doing it? I was looking for ways for white to mate. Of course I would of found it if I knew it was black who was mating... he ... he 

It is a little bit easy to know it is black because then you have 5 moves to try, instead of white's waste of time (e4).
