You really ask us to join the Ponziani Lovers Group? But you guys are 4 which allows you to play cards or organise your Ponziani tournament! And if all members are this talented, we would not fit in at all.

ponz111

No I am not asking anyone to join any group.  I started Ponziani Lovers Group and then became very ill and that group is basically defunct--I do not know how to close it.

There is a Ponziani Power group which hass about 26 players and I am a member.

but to repeat I am now asking anyone to join our group. Our group has many levels of rating and anyone interested inlearning a lot about the Ponziani Opening can ask to be in the group and if they are members they can participate in vote chess if they wish and there is a lot of "stuff" on that opening.

For once I'm speechless...

Also, I have never lost or drew with any grandmaster--and there are 3 grandmasters who play now who I have played in the past.

Not GM's at the time?

Scottrf  Good question.  I won from GM Arthur Bisguier in an over the board game in the US Open in 1973.  This is in some data bases but they have the winner as Desmond Taylor.

I won from Daniel Fleetwood who is now a correspondece grand master and also plays board one on the US Team  At the time I won he was well on the way to become a gm and I slowed him down.

I won from  Stephan Ham who is a correspondence grandmaster. At the time he was rated about 2440 and on his way to becoming a correspondence grandmaster.  He was head of a team called TCCMB Team who had just dispatched a very good master and I challenged the team.

and here was another record I mentioned above--the game lasted a year and the team took time outs and vacations but had to record time taken other than time outs and vacations.  Time used  me  1 day for the whole game and 310 days for the team--probably a "time disparity record" This game is also on some data bases.

Those 3 are the only gms I have ever played against though there is one gm I played a tandem game with.

Count me in. Since i play e4 i may want to test the line.

You will receive an invite!

This is all very confusing. There are 24 members of "Ponziani power" but only 4 members of "Ponziani Lovers" and you would like to close down the Lovers group. I hope you can sort out the mess you created... Have to say that I like you picture with the fantastic prize cup and the shining knight on top. Seems well deserved reading about your records and adventures.

bronsteinitz  I started the lovers group and nobody joined and then I became very ill and during that time-3 players joined.

But then a Ponziani Power group started and there are about 25 members and we are all in that group.  the Ponziani Lovers group is inactive and I do not know how to "delete a group"

NimzoRoy

ponz111 the staff here can either delete a group or tell you how to do it, I don't know how myself so contact them via HELP & SUPPORT at the bottom of the page.

ponz111

Oh yeah, I remember you!  You are the Uber-Cappe!

Here_Is_Plenty

Personally I believe him, based on previous encounters.  I hold no records myself though - cds are much more convenient.

Dark_N_Stormy_Knight

I know he can play top chess, I saw him play in Chicago in 73.

OK, but, has anyone seen him bowl?

I'd love to stay and chat, but I must get ready for my upcoming wii tiddlywinks tournament.

My record is that I'm not a vain blowhard.

Too late for some of you in this thread to beat that.

RE bowling, as I said it is Wii bowling. I learned just what it takes to throw many strikes in a row.  Recently I started a video with: " OK I am now going to throw a perfect game--that is 12 strikes in a row. "  My wife was using her computer to record for facebook.

First try, first throw, I throw a 7-10 split --my wife thought that was really funny.

Second try, same format, Me saying I am going to throw a perfect game--12 strikes in a row.  This time I throw 11 strikes in a row.  And on the last throw--I get only an 8 for a 298 game.

Third try, same format,  Again, I throw 11 strikes in a row.  Last throw

right in the pocket!  The pins swirl around and ONE LEFT Frown A 299 game.

Once you figure out wii bowling it is not hard to throw many strikes in a row--even for me with right knee and left knee replacement and left shoulder replacement.

Re Wii tennis. You must improve your game until you are playing the top two wii bots.

Then just play one game at a time.  You must win the game at love.  So, if say you are up 40-love and lose a point--delete game and start over.

At the end point when you have a very high rating--you must win over a dozen games without letting the top two bots get a point and that is just for one rating point.  I tied for top rating 3 times with 3 different bots.

Probably 200 in the world have done this. Here is the catch:  I am quite good at wii tennis BUT my two sons, ages 12 and 17 beat me easily at wii tennis.

Other wii sports games I am below average...

We need an xbox thread. You know, for the kids!
