Personally, I like Dubstep or Drum and bass. Sometimes, I listen to some deep house when I'm particularly happy!

Yeah, I like a good beat. It needs to be white noise when I'm concentrating and when I listen I want it to have energy.

Classical music is distracting if I start listening to it and not enough energy when I listen on purpose. Music with lyrics is distracting if I know the lyrics.

Usually industrial, electronic or trance.  I do enjoy listening to ambient chill a lot when I am playing...keeps me in the "zone."

The melody is a good fit for the typical tension of speed chess, I reckon.

For slower games: if I can get away with listening to music while playing (not always possible in rated tournaments, for example) whatever I normally listen to.
