That might make him/her schizo.
What strange chess rules can you think up?

Pawn queening rules:
When it reaches the 8th rank, it can become Q, R, N or B
This isn't new, but in addition...
When it reaches the 7th rank, it can either stay a pawn and aspire for greater heights, or become a R, N or B (no Q)
and - on reaching the 6th rank, it can either stay a pawn (it cannot change its mind later, unless it marches onward) or become a N or B (no Q or R)
This can revolutionze the game, as suddenly the pawn push to the 6th acquires a new meaning! A new minor piece occupying a hole in attack, or sacrificing itself for tempo gain.
Also the pawn push to the 7th, making a rook, will make many drawn endings suddenly won! (such as, all king and pawn against king endings, where the king blockades but can't capture the pawn, also R+P vs. R endings).
Interesting huh
Great idea ! But I prefer to prune the rules a bit by ignoring the rule about the sixth rank.

I have heard of a chess variant with a chameleon rule: a piece turns into the piece that it captures. e.g. when a pawn captures a knight, the pawn turns into a knight. The game with this variant rule will be very unpredictable indeed. It is really "Harry Potter Chess "

this is 60's party from a 60's movie

They should yell BINGO instead of checkmate...seriously, let's start a petition. Remember the 60's?

During the game, you may legalize sex change. Your king is now able to move like a queen.
Cool! Can I put mascara on him? -- and a tiny tiara? And have him sway slowly and gracefully when he moves?
When pieces are captured they are placed on a second board anywhere in the first two rows and a second game starts as soon as the first is finished and you play the opposite side in that ie you capture more pieces you start with more , but only the two kings are moved to the second board after checkmate on the first board - no other pieces are moved.

When your opponent captures your pawn then you must drink one glass of beer (if it is knight/bishop 3 if rook 5 and so on). Same happens to your opponent when you capture his/her pieces

With a little tweeking, this could work. Sell your idea to a gaming company!
I played a very good player for many years and lost a thousand games ,winning two against him. So I came up with a chess variation that completely befuddled his chess mind. It is called Schizo-chess.
The rules are that you play as normal, until you make a capture of any piece. In the event of a capture you immediately switch the board around and play for the opposing side and play a further move as that side.
So if you are white and play PxP, for example, you would then become black and have a move to play, that move might be BxP for example and you would then immediately switch back to white and have another move. If there is no capture, then you would remain black and your opponent then moves with the same rules applying..
The aim is to checkmate as normal, but obviously you have to play the mating move on the right side, because any capture will immediately switch you to being your own opponent.
So you are simultaneously playing against you and your opponent, hence the name.
If you have a seasoned opponent, who knows his chess theory and regularly beats you, then challenge him/ her to a game of "Schizo-chess" and watch them go to pieces!
