The King to be able to move two squares any direction instead of one. Would make check-mate that much more difficult.
What strange chess rules can you think up?
A pawn can promote to a king.
So then, would Both kings have to be checkmated to end the game? This seems to me to be an important consideration in "two or more kings chess."
Also, what if you get All of your pawns promoted to kings? Picture the board in That situation ... if you Dare ..... Can you see it? It looks like like a world gone mad, doesn't it? ... In summary, I find this "pawns promote to kings" idea deeply disturbing.
Falcon Punch: Once during each game, you may punch your opponent in the nose as hard as you want. If he bleeds on a piece, it is removed from the board. If he gets knocked out, you win the game and his wallet.
Cannibalism: You may remove one of your own pawns that within one square of your knight. The knight then upgrades from a {1,2} leaper to a {3,4} leaper for this turn.
Conversion chamber: Before the game begins, each player writes down a column letter (A through H), which they do not reveal until necessary. If an opponent's pawn promotes on the column you've chosen, the promoted piece becomes your color, not the opponent's.
I actually laughed aloud are you a professional stand-up comedian?
After reading some of these posts on here, I can't help but wonder why people who have never even been in a life or death situation involving violence are so fascinated with it.
When putting an opponent's king in check, instead of saying "Check," a player must say "Hey there, buddy, check This out! What do you think about That, huh?!"
Forget to say all this, and you lose two pieces. Plus, you have to play the rest of the game blindfolded. (Pretty severe consequences, I know -- but how else will you Learn?!)
That is the only way to learn, and that's how I learned and see how good I play. Second thought, lol!
I don't know if someone else already mentioned something similar in the 24! previous pages, but here's one I've used before when I taught a beginner's after-school chess class:
King Teleport - once per game, each player may teleport their king to safety. The king may move to any open square (cannot capture during teleport), and of course can not teleport into check.
Variants: 1) The king can capture using teleport. 2) The king may not teleport while in check or to escape checkmate. 3) The king may teleport out of check, but not out of checkmate. 4) A player's king may only teleport to a square occupied by one of that player's pawns (the pawn is removed, or in another variant, the pawn and king switch squares).

Invisible square chess: Each player writes down a square, and if a player moves to the square the opponent wrote down, the piece disappears, and they get to choose a new invisible square.
I like this, and it certainly would change the game!
Why the hell don't we just call it Battleship instead of Chess. While we are at it just call Weiner Dildo.
Uuuuhh...
