What to do if they don't resign

It can be a bit boring if people play on and on in a completely lost position, but it is absolutely their right. Just play on knowing you will win in the end.

It is much more irritating if people expect you to resign and start making comments. That is bad sportsmanship and  just makes me determined not to resign.

Not to be sarcastic or anything, but the whole point of chess is to checkmate your opponent not to make them resign or shamefully hang their tiny little kings in shame. Oh sorry perhaps that was a little sarcastic.

I have won more the a few games after a blunder on my part, and my opponent started chatting about resignation, maybe you should checkmate me if you want to win the game.

So what are your plans for the four ponys? Are you going to keep them?

I let them run free. I was suprised that they turned out to be carnivorous.

In one game I've just promoted a pawn leaving me K, Q, B +5Ps v K + P. Normally I would end it quickly, but I'm curious. How long will my opponent play on? Knowing my luck he'll resign immediately.
