My dad taught me how to play, and I learned from books, chess classes, friends, all the other stuff. Here on chess.com, I don't actually learn anything new besides some cool checkmates and tactics which are new to me. But I think I am getting better by practicing nearly everyday.

I know that place. The Chess pieces look hideous and you can't change them.

i learned when i was really little i played all the time when i was a toddler ona chess application on my pc. i started playing seriously when i was in 3rd grade. now, 2 and a half years later my uscf rating is 1331
Pretty cool, getting to 1331 USCF rating in 2 1/2 years! I just started competitive chess this year, and I'm only 585 USCF rating.
I play Xiangqi from my childhood,I learned from my father.When I am a teenager,I am interested in board games which is similar to Xiangqi,so I learned Weiqi and chess.
