I taught myself from a book.  It was called "Chess for Dummies", so I thought "I bet I can do that!"Smile

She also needs to update her account. It says she's nine, and was born in 2000. That would make her 13 or so now.

I know i could play chess at 10 but i really don't remember how i was first taught. I think i taught myself with the help of chess books from the library but really i don't remember. I didn't really take it "seriously" until i was in my last 20s and i joined a local chess club. I was at a local beach with a chess board and a member of the club came up and asked me if i wanted to play a game. After he smashed me he told me about the chess club. Nice guy btw. I was a member there for many years before i moved to another state.

what club is it and where is the club

My dad taught me how to play, and I learned from books, chess classes, friends, all the other stuff. Here on chess.com, I don't actually learn anything new besides some cool checkmates and tactics which are new to me. But I think I am getting better by practicing nearly everyday.

the very moves i learned from my father when i was a kid but i was stupid i didnt really touch chess till i was older, i played for free on flyordie server´(horrible server, bad games and they only had 20 minute chess games no customization, no 3 move repition and i believe no 50 move rule lol.. people gave me a lot of free advise and i trained tactics a lot.

I know that place. The Chess pieces look hideous and you can't change them.

Probably because they only allow people 13 and up, I believe.

Pretty cool, getting to 1331 USCF rating in 2 1/2 years! I just started competitive chess this year, and I'm only 585 USCF rating.

I play Xiangqi from my childhood,I learned from my father. When I am a teenager,I am interested in board games which is similar to Xiangqi,so I learned Weiqi and chess.
