Why Chess Sucks arguments

chess is a massive waste of time and energy. No matter how long you gaze into the 64 squares, you will always be at a loss. Become the greatest GM of all time, and 50 years after you retire they will find all your faults and call you a patzer.
Chess players often say "chess sucks" when they actually mean "I suck".
Which is why Bobby FIscher, one of the greatest chess players of all time, also said chess sucks?
Lets face it, half of chess has been debauched into memorization of theory, and people use chess engines to try and make improvements on the 18th move of a line to give them a small new novel edge. Spontineity has given way to developed rules of play - the likes of which is why the game sucks.
I enjoy it, I really do, but it does suck up all your time and no matter what move you do, it will be inadequate in the face of the game.
If he didn't suck why did he duck Karpov?
On a more serious note... if anyone wants a game with untamed frontiers why not have a go at Taikyoku Shogi (quantum computers will probably crack it shortly after translating the Voynich Manuscript! ).

shogi is a much more beautiful and pure game compared to modern chess. Chess is a lot of fun to play drunk, but it's not a good idea to take it seriously.

chess is boring, unrewarding, mentally demanding and time-consuming.
you know it's true!
Boring isn't true.

Quantum mechanics is highly intriguing in a multitude of aspects, not to mention extremely succulent.

Chess suck because it is VERY hard to remember the moves of every single piece. Ok, I admit it. I tried very hard to learn this game and so far, no luck.
I find that chess sucks because I can not find a nice software program that will help me with 3D chess. Not the board in 3D but the actual game of 3D chest. I have seen it set up and played once. I found it very interesting and want to learn how to play it.
In my younger days chess sucked because it took every moment of my days; playing, studying, and traveling to tournaments. Now at 53 it sucks because my brain power isn't what it used to be and I can not play at the levels I used to. Also postal chess is all but dead for lower ranked players with the advent of master level chess programs.
Finding consistent playing partners is not easy and a reason why chess "sucks". Usually in our Chess interface you will get someone playing a few games and then they phase out.
Chess sucks because sometimes it can be time consuming and takes a lot patience to make a proper move for your chess pieces.
I’ve been trying to learn chess. Now, I’ve always considered myself a relatively smart man, but there’s just something about chess that, just, oh, I don’t know makes me feel like a total dumbass. I thought computers made me feel dumb, but chess has really got them beat. Chess makes me feel inadequate, yet every night I keep playing. I keep choosing easier and easier opponents and I keep losing and losing. A game shouldn’t be this hard. It’s a board game for crying out loud. Everyday I tell myself I’m not going to play again. I come home and sit down in my chair, trying to ignore my computer’s siren song. “Come play chess,” it sings sweetly, “you can win this time,” and like the sailors of old I heed the song, I amble over to the computer full well knowing I’m going to shipwreck on the rocks. (That was all metaphorical. I don’t really need a ship to get to my computer. I use a rowboat.) So after this next game, I’m done. I’m going to quit. I can do it. I don’t need it. I mean, what’s one more time going to hurt?
i'll post more as i find more

If you find yourself disliking chess because it is difficult and unrewarding, you are missing the big picture. I don't run on the treadmill every morning because it's easy and it always makes me happy. I do it because it makes me healthier. My brain feels more oxygenated, I am more alert, and I have more stamina. I play chess because I enjoy it, but also because it makes me smarter. Am I good? No, I suck horribly, but I want to bear through it so I can enjoy what it's like to be a master someday. If chess sucks to you now, do some thinking: am I playing this game because I want to be temporarily happy or happy in the long run?

you know it's true!
it doesn't suck though
Sadly it kinda does, it indirectly has luck on it it's 75% Intelligence and 25% creativity :/

Indirectly has luck? Um, no...
