What the hell is a GM doing playing the london?

Elliot analyzed the game on Chess TV the other night.  His thinking was that because it was a simul with multiple people and therefore time issues flipping between games, the GM played a London to avoid deeply theoretical openings and cut down on the thinking time.

You see this a lot in simuls. It is a way to avoid facing each opponents preferred system.
