A game in which my opponent had more blunders than I did. Give me your insight please and how i could've done better!  I'm gonna do a computer analysis of this game now.

Nice win!

What if black had played 18..Kg6 instead of 18..Kg8.Best white can do is 19.Qg4 -but black can get a square by moving 19..f6 .

Like all of us, you made some mistakes. But you had an interesting game, which is the most important thing. Here are a few things you might want to look at.

7.Qe2 was a mistake. You protect your e-pawn, but you deprive your d-pawn of a defender. Black could have played 7...Nxd4 8.Nxd4, Qxd4. The move you probably wanted was 7.Qd3, whick protects both center pawns

You definitely had the advantage after 9.bxc3: two bishops and a solid center. Black's 9...a6 wasn't a waiting move. He was intending to play b5 on the next move, fight for space on the queen side, and possibly bring his bishop into action on b7. You might want to take a look at 10.a4 which discourages that idea. It's going to be tough to get your bishop on b2 into the game. It's just a big pawn right now. And instead of 13.Rab1, you might consider 13.a4 weakening his extended queen side pawns. As a rule, when the only thing you can say about one of your moves is that it's a "waiting move," you should look for a different move to play. And 15.a4 followed by Ba3 seems a better way to activate your bishop

The only problem with playing for the classic bishop sacrifice is that Black doesn't have to be so cooperative! 15...Ng6 would put and end to your idea, although you still have a better position. But after 15...Qb6, all systems are go! Your sacrifice was completely sound. He has no way to bring a knight to f6 or f8, or a bishop to f5, and you have control of g5, so your knight will be secure.  Nice win

what would have been the best continuation after 28. Bg5?

Annotated with a few of my thoughts.

thanks for that insight traviswilliams3! that actually helped a lot too. especially my rook move to b1 seemed sensicle to me because i've always been told look for open or semi-open files but now i know to look for an even more purposeful meaning.

i am definitely thinking about where to put my rooks more often now! :D
