A Game with Erik

Yea, It's ok that it happened. You did what you could do in the game. My Queen was right there for the picking and you took it. You're just a big meanie head who picks on lower rated players. I see how it is! I am just totally kidding.
I goofed up in the game. I saw that I had to move the Queen but for some reason I looked over all my options and lost sight that I had to move her. *shakes head* I don't know... *shrugs* But it serves me right and it is a good reminder to make sure of what is going on with every move we make before we make it. A rematch would be nice.

Lucky you! I'd love a chance to play erik.
You know this thread is over 14 years old right?

Yes, but the game was interesting, more so than most of the games in the forums now, and I was a bit bored.

Yeah ok
No, not really ok to be honest. There are some players (like me) who like to offer a helping hand to improving players. It takes time to write well thought out reactions. Time I don't want to spend on games that are from 2007, where the OP is no longer around. Sure, maybe if there was a question about a game, or a new look at the game, that might be ok. Here the thread was closed for 14 years, until the comment was made 'Lucky you, I'd love a chance to play Erik'. That's not adding anything new. Also, why not say in your post 'I know this is an old threat, but...': adding that makes others aware of the fact that the thread is really old.
Forums in general work well, because there are unwritten rules like not reopening ancient threads. That's because you don't want people to have to go look which thread is new and which isn't. That'll just cost time and make them feel disappointed. If it happens often, people start leaving. You don't want that.
I felt the need to reply to this, because the 'yeah ok' comment makes it feel like it really is ok. I really dislike it and I've just explained why. There's also really no reason to come up with an excuse like 'this game was just so awesome' cause we are all chess players and can all see that white just blundered his queen. Let's go on to new threads and talk chess again.

True, not the best use of my time, especially considering how many more interesting games are out there.
