I think it is important to note that 9. Nxd5 is possible immediately, as 9... Bxe1 10. Qxe1 leaves you up two pieces for a rook. Obviously 9. Ne5 worked out better for you, but it relies on your opponent making a mistake (9... Bxc3 10. bxc3 is better for black than Qf6, although you are still positionally superior).
