I'm not sure but I would have played 5. c3 because it is faster than Re1. If he were to play Nf6 anyway, b4! would have gained time on his Bishop and prepared a Queenside rush. After that Re1 would still be an option.
That, and at move 10 I expected Black to play Qe7, can you tell if that would have been a better defense?

Generally yes c3 is a good fourth or fifth move in the italian, but I waited until the sixth move in this game because he gave me enought time to activate my rook unmolested
Qe7 may have been a little tougher to crack but he still has the opening of the e file to contend with while his queen + king and my rook are on it
This is a game I just played, and it just looks so good it is a short game but I think it could be very intersting to study if you are learning.
