a puzzle
slightly confusing, took a little time to work out why black will lose as i thought the Queen could move to a defensive square
exactly, Giovanni. thanks.
if queen moves to a defensive square, then white can simply attack the king twice more to end the game.
Right!! Sorry 'bout that. Can't believe I missed the one obvious move ![]()
I think I found a cute little finish. I think it doesn't have flaws. :] Correct me where im wrong.
Note: after the Bxe5+ black had also the option of moving the black king to h7. In this Case one of the following 2 sequences would take place. All of wich lead to a forced win for white. But the key-move for a guaranteed win is the queening of the c-pawn.
Any other suggestions?
Pretty complicated puzzle:p where it doesn't seem there's exactly one combination right. But I'm sure..this one works. If it's the fastest, i wonder :D
or...
this variation.
- Roses-Horn, no it shouldnt be rd8 + immediately. Butbisshopf-6..black loses also after rook-blocks. If white exploits the pin on blacks king. Take a look at this example. Black loses in all variations. The c-pawn queening is the only right winning move in my opinion.
(note: on move 7 blacks best move is to give up the queen for bisshop, so that after 7..Qxf6 . 8.Rxf6...black is gonna lose his rook as well, because it's pinned and attacked by 2 pieces.)
