A question about a blunder.

Hi everyone! I have a quick question about a specific move i made in a game, that the analysis tool diagnoses as a blunder. I really don't understand why it thinks so, and could use some human help! ^^

In this screenshot below, the tool says i should have played pawn to e5 to protect my undefended a1 rook from the queen on f6, instead of the c3 pawn i chose to play. But i really fail to understand how that move would have improved anything? The pawn on e5 would have been hanging, and the queen could have easily captured it without being vulnerable, making my situation strictly worse? By contrast, the pawn on c3 protects the rook, is defended by the b1 knight, and doesn't expose any piece to an attack?

As a side question: how much trust do y'all have in the analysis tool, and the accuracy score? I am fairly new, and not a very good player, so by default i would trust it over my own intuition, but this makes me wonder if it might be perhaps a bit "far sighted", seeing here benefits to this apparent pawn sacrifice that would only be visible 10 turns later?

Thanks in advance!

Thats a tough one! And to take your second question first: don't rely to much on the tool. Sometimes it is wrong, and other times the suggested move is way over your head. But use it as a helping tool. And try to be curious.

In the positions 11.e5 is clearly better from the computer view because it can se, that Black can't take the pawn with 11...Qxe5. Why can't Black not do that? Take a break and look at the position.

If 11.e5! Qxe5? then 12.Qh5+ looks very dangerous. It should be quite clear to se, that Blacks only hope of surviwing is 12...Ke7. But then is is not so clear how White preceed.

So you have to be a better player than you current level to play 11.e5! and seeing that even if 11...Qxe5 12.Qh5+ Ke7 isn't clear then it looks much better for White.

Oh, i see! I had completely missed the possibility of Qh5+. Thanks y'all, that makes sense!

The most important thing is that somewhere on the screen (on the top) there has to be an "Analysis" button. Click to that, and go to the Analysis board, where you can see the top 3 engine lines (with evaluations) and you can try any move you like and see what happens, going back and forth as you wish.
