A sacrifice gone wrong... or not?
Objectively 26... Ne5? looks just bad. In a practical game (possibly assisted by time pressure) it obviously worked just fine
. If 28... Ra2 white has 29. Bf3! Instead of 30. Bxb5?? white could again consider 30. Bf3.
Better moves might be 26... Rae8 with the idea to mount pressure against e3 or 26... Ra7 with the idea to either penetrate along the a-file after doubling rooks there or else to double rooks on the e-file.
