A self-destructive minority attack

I have not been able to make any sense of this game.  I played for a minority attack, but it seemed to blow up in my face, and left me with a strategically confounding position.

I am mostly interested in how I could have better prepared the minority attack or if it was the wrong plan altogether.  Thanks in advance!

Neither can I.....

on move 14 i would have gone with Rfe1 personally with the idea of playing e4 shortly afterwards.  that would free up the dark squared bishop a little bit, and keep some tension over there on the queenside.  in short, i think the queenside pawn push was the wrong idea.

I thought about playing e4, but I feel that it creates too many weaknesses with little compensation.
