A Slight Error

I recently had a tournament. This was my first, and worst game.

It wasn't a bad game except for those two pawn drops. I don't understand why you couldn't play 25.Bxh5, though.

25. Bxh5 would have been a poor choice, I think. After 25. Nxg5, 26. Qxg5, 26. Qxg5, 27. hxg5, 27. Rxg5. The bishop has to go to either e2 or d1, and after 28. ...B-h3. I wasn't liking the looks of how things were going. So I put the bishop where I thought it would be of good use after the trade.

Black: 26. . . NxB+ looks pretty devastating. 27. pxN is followed by Qd4+ winning the queen.

Dax...I totally missed that. Fortunately, he did too. Man, the things people point out. I'm really going to need to work on tactics the next couple of weeks.

Paul--I liked B-h2 too. But, I liked the look of keeping pressure directly on his king...Which I ended up not doing by taking the bishop on g7 later on. Oh well, it's a learning experience, right?

I'm glad you learned from it. =) I can honestly say I did too...It was the cornerstone behind his defense and offense. The e5 push would have been a very strong move on my part. I won't miss something like that again...I hope. =p
