I think after you missed 17... Bxe2!, you should have traded Queens. White was just technically better in the later stage of the game, using the power of their Queen to full extent.

Not mad for your 3...f6 as it weakens the kingside and exposes you to diagonal checks etc. but in this case, you might be able to get away with it as his pieces are not ready for an attack. 17 ...BxBe2 and you've got yourself a won game. Several possibilities, but they all seem to hold your extra piece.
