I was thinking that if white played Qf3, I could have responded Qg6 unleashing a whole new set of threats.
Amateur Analysis
Thanks for the in-depth analysis everyone, I really appreciate it. I'd feel a lot more accomplished if my opponent didn't play like, well... an idiot, quite frankly. I do hope that's not too harsh.
And to the people that said that I shouldn't have moved Bxg1? I completely agree now. However, I did know that the Queen side would NEVER become developed enough to castle, at least until I could develop sufficient threats to begin an attack. Bxg1 therefore prevents castling and that was imperative.
Thanks for taking the time everyone, it really helps. I've always benefited from having mistakes pointed out to me in my own games, because I understand what I was thinking when I made that move, and also why it was wrong. Seriously, you're all helping a lot.
This is a game I played just today (23rd of August). I found it particularly intriguing, so I want to post it here for analysis and to show anyone that cares enough to view my thread. I thought this game was a perfect example of what not to do as white.
My rating is steadily climbing because I don't typically play rated games, so it's not where it should be, but it is what it is. It's only a rating. I win most of my games against people rated as I am.
