One other comment I feel compelled to make is that for some reason, I just don't like playing the Giucco Piano or the Ruy Lopez. (Don't they call it Spanish Torture because it's so boring?)
So, I enjoy either the Latvian Gambit or the Russian Game (Петров). I suppose they're not very similar those two openings, but they fit my style I think.
I should probably study the openings and the lines more, but at this point in my chess playing, I play mainly for enjoyment and studying just isn't my thing at the moment.
I just had a fun game filled with questionable sacrifices and (what's the opposite of sharp? blunt? perhaps blunted) blunted attacks.
It reached a point where I felt that I would definitely post it here and I was just going to try and decide on posting in the Category of either game analysis or game showcase depending on how things turned out.
It wound up as a draw by repetition. I guess that's better than a loss and not quite a win. My opponent was rated substantially higher than me and when I saw the words claim draw staring me in the face, I decided to do that instead of venturing deeper into an endgame.
Although we were even in material mathematically, I felt like he had a bit of an advantage as his remaining pieces seemed much more powerful than my army of pawns.
I'll post it here and I hope you enjoy. Since it wasn't a win, perhaps I can think of it as an artistic draw.
I'm sure my play here is probably filled with several blunders. As always, I'm happy to hear your feedback.
