This was the first of a 3 round tournament. I didn't play very well the next 2 rounds (lost round 2 and drew a much lower rated opponent round 3), but I thought this draw is of a high enough quality that it's worth analyzing.
Anyways, I played a familiar opponent who I've played before but whose rating has been surging the past several months. Despite being only 9 years old, my opponent racked up several victories against some 2000+players, something that is indicative of her future potential. I think this might be one of the last times that I was able to hold her to a draw, before she gets too strong.
