Another rapid 90+ accuracy game

Hey everyone, so I just recently started playing chess (2 months ago) and I've played lots of blitz and bullet, I recently decided to improve my skills and tactics by playing longer time controls such as 15+10 and 10 minutes rapid. And just today I scored two 90+ accuracy games, I've shared the first one I had in a previous post earlier today (which you can find by clicking on my profile) and here is the second game. I would love to get some feedback and tips on how to improve my rating and my overall skills to get better. Thanks everyone 🙂

I dont know if this will help and i dont mean it to be really advice more just statistical contribution but i only played 10 minute up until 1000 i played around 1000 for maybe 3 months give or take amd then i switched to 15l10, where i got to 1400 recently. I actually havent broken the 1400 barrier but i might once. I dont know what a more skilled player would tell you but longer time controls arent the end all be all at lower than 1000. I can probably safely say i wouldnt be 1300+ in 10 minute. So if it helps you which i guess itd make sense that it would then just stick with the longer time controls i prefer them anyways.

Oh I see, sorry for the late reply btw but anyways hopefully you'd be able to reach the 1400s in the 10minute rapid format, playing longer time controls would definitely help a lot.

You've been misinformed on a few things.

  • Accuracy- isn't always a very "accurate" way to measure how well you played
  • Blitz/bullet and probably even 30 min rapid ratings- aren't a very good way to measure your skills levels (at least yet)
  • Annotations- are important for people to help beyond analyzing your game for you (read the OP in thread titled..."Read Before You Post").

A few questions should be asked though (setting ratings aside):

What's your ultimate goal here?

To win more bullet/blitz games?

To achieve a chess title?

To horse around and have fun, while being the average Joe after 6 months?

To become a tactics nightmare in 20 moves?

Something else?

Losses are generally more instructive. Perhaps this belongs in Game Showcase?

Hello there, i apologize for the late reply. I haven't been keeping up with the forums lately, but i really appreciate your comment and concern. So concerning the goals i want to achieve, i most definitely don't have any big goals at the moment since i've only been playing chess for roughly 3 months. But i'm definitely trying to improve my rating and improve as a chess player overall. But if i had an ultimate goal it would certainly be getting a chess title, even though it seems quite hard to achieve obviously but yeah, i guess it's not too bad of a goal to aim to. Anyways, thanks once again for your comment, i really appreciate it. happy.png

Yup, i definitely noticed that longer time controls are a much better way of improving than 3 min blitz games, so i've been shifting to rapid/daily games a little more recently. Thanks for your comment. happy.png
