Any overlooked combinations?

Hi,

this is the first game I post in this forum.

I played this game earlier today and would like to hear your comments on the way I played and whether there was a winning combination that I overlooked. I have annotated it myself as well as I could.

I played Black, using the French defense:

I'm grateful for all help I can get analyzing this. Smile

Just before commenting I'd like to say I'm not an expert in the French.

3... c5 looks weird to me. I'm more familiar with Bb4(Winawer) or Nf6 (Classical).

Your real mistake was 6... Bd7. Your opponent could have won a few pawns with 7. dxe6! (I'll let you sort out the variations. PM me if you need help.)

11... o-o-o was daring :) I'm not too sure if it's safe for him to take the f7 pawn but it seems alright to me.

14. ... Bc5 is a mistake (or rather you have a better move) 14... Rg6! wins the Queen.

Those are about the few things I can see that you missed. You annotated the rest. Good game and good luck.

Hi,

interesting game, thanks for comments. I think after 6. Bb5 the d5 pawn is really awfully dangerous. The a3-b4 attack to B (with only losing mvoes) lost me several games with only retrieving the B with other side advance.

And, of course, I really like the 14. Rg6 :-)

Move 10, capture the knight first then protect g7

14... Rg6 traps the queen
