It looked like a weak defense to me. I think both of you moved pawns a little too often.
You were right to call 1. ...a6 and 1. ...b5 strange. While it actually has a name (the St. George's Defense, I think), it's not very sound at all. You definitely could have made a huge center, but I think 3. c4 wasn't the right idea.
4. Nc3 doesn't protect the e-pawn as Black can just play b4. On a similar note, 5. a3 or 5. b4 is somewhat better than 5. b3, since it prevents b4. 15. Bh4 isn't good, as Black can break through your defenses. 24. g3 is also unnecessarily weakening your defenses, as well as 25. f4 (which dropped the exchange to boot).
I think you overrate 32. Bf5. While it is good that your pieces are becoming active, there's nothing special about that one move that deserves an "!". 33. Bxe6+ is also a bit overrated. While it forces mate, it's not "knock-your-socks-off" good. Maybe one exclamation, but not two.
Hi, just wanted to know whether I did indeed have a strong attack or was it weak from him? Other general comments on my play would be nice too thanks!
AND -- That rook at h 4 or whatever, it is obviousley NOT there, I cant delete it!! please Ignore it!!
