Brilliant moves are not always the best moves...

Has anyone else seen that brilliant moves at the analysis are not always the best moves? Watching the analysis of this game https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/live/3583195285 my opponent made a "brilliant move" at the 8th move, but was still not the move recommended by the engine.

Right, they are just below the best moves. They are nearly perfect, but not quite.

Yea, but if you look carefully it says that in this case the brilliant move is better than the best move too. So basically the brilliant move is better than the best move, yet not good enough to be considered the best move. Kind of wierd

Whatcha got now?

I dont think thatll help as the the more moves it calcs for the best move, the worse moves it gets, and so it calcs «the new best move» and finds out after a certain amount of time that «the new best move» anymore. I watched it analyze for a bit and all of a sudden it started considering other moves which hadnt been calced deeply
