Bringing back 'deep analysis'

Hi all,

I haven't see anything on the subject so I'll ask : since my last diamond subscription (I come and go) there isn't deep analysis any more.

I didn't find information on that (maybe I missed it). Do you know something about it ?

It's a feature I really appreciated when reviewing some games.

Best regards !

Yes. Deep analysis was a feature about 7 years ago.

Here is a post including a deep analysis: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-analysis/deep-analysis-for-free

The current analysis available to diamond members is much deeper. You can adjust how long to let the analysis run and select from different engines. Cloud analysis is also available. (Max)

Here is the deep analysis from that post:

The guy who posted the analysis stated:
27. Computer say my best move was a Q sacrifice! Can you see why? Computer is not saying. Also after my Blunder my opponent had a mate in 8 (good luck spotting that...)

Here is a screenshot of part of the current analysis:

It calls Kf2 a "good" move but does point out a line that shows white's king falling to a forced mate in 8 and points out a better move (the queen sac which stops the forced mate).

Chess.com still has a problem with applying descriptors of moves.

I think the graph of the evaluations clearly shows that you should take a look at 27 Kf2.

Here is a link to that game-- https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/live/1598998497?tab=review . (It is not possible to include the whole analysis in an interactive way in the forum,)

@justbefair

Thank you for your replies.

Alright, I guess the "maximum" game review should do the trick. But really, given the time (about 20 seconds to analyse the game at maximum), I don't see how it can compete with the 'old' deep analysis.

Unless it would mean a lot more ressources given to people using the feature.

I totally agree with the problem of the move descriptions but I really don't know what to say.

After all, it's computer analysis against human point of view and humans playing.

Again, thank you, Chess.com is really valuable and I enjoy it quite well happy.png

Best regards

I am thinking that even though it is quicker now, it is still much more accurate and calculating deeper than the "deep analysis" was 7 years ago. Just because that took longer doesn't mean it was more accurate, a lot has changed in 7 years!

Yes but it doesn't mean it hasn't been rethought in 7 years to be more efficient since the beginning of the feature.
