Yes, Black is allowed to castle. This is an important element of this position

Try to understand the position in front of you , Calculate the most forcing moves , If possible , Blindfolded .

I've waited plenty, but haven't got many attempts for this puzzle so I'll post the "solution." This is the "8th Official Puzzle Solution."

I'll post the 9th Official Puzzle for everyone to try sometime in the near future

1. exf6 was a Brilliant over the board move .

When is the 9th gonna be released?

KeSetoKaiba

Here is the 9th Official Puzzle; enjoy everyone! As always, give the position some thought and use it to practice calculation ability. Then post in the comments your lines and thought process so everyone else can compare their attempts with yours. I'll release the solution in a future post, but if something comes up (or you're too eager for the solution), then you can check the hidden white text below the diagram to view the source - from where you can find the solution yourself if you "give up" and don't want to lose sleep waiting for the solution to be posted  The position is White to move.

First of all, 1.Kxg3 lose to 1. ...Qxb6 and you can't promote your pawns anymore.

1.a7Bd6 and the x-Ray is terrible for example 2.b7=Qb8; Rg4+ 3.Kh1; Qb1+ it's mate in two.

So the obvious move is 1.b7=Qb8; Bd6 2.Qxd6; Qxd6 3.Ne4+ forking the queen and king and winning the game.

Spaceysmile

@kjDG12 I thought the same at first but there is an annoying counter-idea for black.

1. b8Q Bd6 2.Qxd6 Rg2+ 3. Kxg2 Kh4+

Wow nice stalemate defense

Qxd6 lose your queen.

chamo2074

Then Nd5 and white is threatening Nf3 and Nd8, if we remove everything from the board, keeping pawns we are winning

kJDG15

I didn't understand what you mean by Nd5 but I guess you meant Ne5: Kh4+; Ng4 (double exclam); Qxd6; Ne5! threatening Nf3mate. Then if 1.Qd2+; Bf2+; Kg5; Nf3+ fork. If 1.Qxb6; Nf3mate and if 1.Qxe5; Bd8+; Qg5; Bxg5+ then a6-a7-a8 wins. Amazing resolution dude it was deep.

chamo2074

Yeah exactly
