i'm still not very good at chess so maybe theres something im missing, can someone explain why the eval says my queen trade is a blunder here?

Because at the end of the operation, White has won a small amount of material, but has no piece out and one piece completely offside, while Black is ready for action with much better pieces. This is more important than the material gain.
