Can you find the check mate in two for the white (without cheating) ?
Probably but I'm going to "cheat" because of intellectual laziness. This is a good puzzle for the kids I teach.
Rock F1, maybe?
I hate engines btw, there must be anyway sth i did bad because in my book i did a match but im reading about other answer up there, maybe im half dixlesic idk.
Nice, you find immediatly ?
I found it within 5 seconds all because of the title and because I have seen the idea many times before.
Had you quietly told us to find a fastest checkmate without specifying the number of moves to checkmate, I would have taken a longer time to find the sequence of moves.

You are right anyway, i wasnt realizing the black king has room to move on H2. I jusrt realized so now. So my idea would be match in three, as the second movement that rock should be then back to F6 then and H6 match, to dont let king to scape. So your idea is faster
Rock A6, i think its that one, next match on A1, it does look nice, idk how to insert spoilers to cover the answer

Is "A1" a typo or what? The solution has nothing to do with a1.
Can't the rook just go anywhere on the 6th rank (except for h6) then play Rh6#?
1. Re6 h5 2. Rh6 is not check (let alone mate), there is a white pawn on h2.

Yes, and no. Since the king can't move, you must move Rf8, take the promoted pawn, Black King takes white pawn, then move Rh8.

No its not a typo,as it asks to answer without cheating so without using engines,i expect that to be a brain storm of ideas. Anyone can check the engine for the "close to proper solution close to always" ,its just some seconds, but thats pointless imo. Unless you are willing to be profesional, and still. Thats why we will see chess evolve into a rapid/fast stuff like its happening. That engines kill the game as it was, players used to have writtings/notes off their own games during their lives in a little notebook , some notes, that was their database, so it was more one brain against the other.
Now its just different, even at least there is still live chess. Meanwhile there is room for chess in RL, there will be chess as it was and is stil, as its understood, like what its called classic today.
Buy yeah i answered too fast that A6. A1 was supposed to be next movement.
didnt check again that alone pawn on the corner and the eneny king being able to take It out.
That confirm button is weird, but it changes everything to me while on the board, its weird how it makes me improve that button being there, so making any move compulsory a two step game, i correct the move before finally doing it many times, on games with this possibility, so improving a lot.
