At which move do you suggest the queen should have moved? Black is in check every move.

Not to mention the rooks were on black squares each move.

there must be something I'm missing because the king could take the rook when it was NEXT TO IT!

Well, on move 7 the queen has a chance to move. It involves sacrificing the queen though, with no chance of capturing a piece.

white had a discover check (either on the queen or the king) every time a rook was in jeopardy. if 2...Kxb7 3. Bd5+ and whatever the king does the other white rook takes the queen.

shadowslayer wrote: there must be something I'm missing because the king could take the rook when it was NEXT TO IT! you see, king always moves to black quares. he avoid being mated by the bishop ( and the rook  e8 can take the queen => black king can't take the rook

vuhung
White don't give black any chances to avoid rooks
