No, it's not mate in eight, I know that because it's happened in games where there definately was no mate in eight. I was thinking that it was a person somehow related to the computer who analyzed the game.
here ya go. i suppose this answers my second question. i can just post the link to people if i want. I dont think it means Mate in8 either as the number changes and surely it would say mate in 8 if it was. http://www.chess.com/home/computer_analysis.html?id=6286993
Also the analysis gives a point system for who has the advantage. if it is negative does that mean that i am at a disadvantage and positive, advantage. Just wondering does the analysis take into account who tells it to do the analysis
this is our game analysed ozzie

i dont think i had much of a plan all game just trying to hang in there.cant remember too much as twas along time ago.
the pgn is the list of moves in the game basically, if you go to look at the game, there should be an option to download pgn, then you can post and insert position or game by clicking the chessboard icon in the post reply area.
how do i dl the pgn?and what is the pgn?
ahh someone even more clueless than I at modern electronic chess, portable game notation, it's a type of file with the moves etc in it. when you follow that link you'll see an icon with PGN on it, click on that and save it in a folder. Then you see the toolbar above where you type your message there is a diagram of a chessboard, follow the instructions to post the file here. It appears as a game diagram. alternatively can you post the text or something?
i had an idea it was something like that just wasnt sure. I now cant open this file
as i need a program to read it. I didnt have to dl it to my computer at all. copied and pasted it straight in.Move 86 is where i lost it all sob sob.
computer says his move 86 is terrible then my move 86 is terrible.
ok after move 85 Fritz gives mate in 14 (how did we miss it) with 86 Kc7 (might do better if it was left running longer), and your 86..Kb8 as best after Bg1. We don't need a computer to know you're totally lost either way do we :-) I haven't seen Mat in any of the chess.com analysis I've had....can you paste the whole text
on 86 I think he should have moved Kc8 (assuming a1 is bottom left in this diagram), with the goal of Bb8 and trapping your king, forcing h2 which he can then take with Bxh2.
I think 86...Kb7 would have been better for you.
ehhhh blame the anaylsis. it says "BEST MOVE (-0.01)
drawish position" if i had played Kb7 on move 86. blame the analysis.
Yes i am aware that going down a piece was quite bad!but i would still play on!people have come back from worse. Also i really didnt want this guy to win!i timed out in a won game against him and we didnt have a great relationship tbh.
and as i analyse it yes i think it was a draw if i had played correctly.
im coming to believe that (Mat08) means mate in 8. The number goes down one each move yet goes up also so i presume so now.
I remember this game! It was the last game in a tournament we were in.
yep i came 3rd but should have came second! ill get over it somehow lol. Think i still got some points for 3rd though! Havent been able to play a tournement since as my timeout rate was too high grrrr. Its currently on 11% lol.
The drawish evaluation on move 86 is probably because the computer views any repetition of moves as equal, and 86... Kb7 is the same position as after 84... Kb7. But provided the position doesn't repeat again, white should be able to win easily.
The endgame is a little bit tricky, because if white wins b-pawn with king, then a stalemate chould result. Need to win this pawn, with bishop and check as in game. So 86Kc6 Ka7 87 Bd6 Ka8 88 Bc7 Ka7 89Bxb6ch wins for white I think. After 86 Bg1 Kb7 87Bh2 white can arrange to win in same way, think position has only repeated twice like cyanfish said. So don't think there is a draw, 26Bg1 Kb7 is only making win longer for no reason.
i got a game analysed (and got bad news as i had a draw but lost) and just wondering what mat(08) or mat(anynumber) means?
also is there a way to send the games analysed to other people?
thanks in advance
