Chess analyzer question

I was reviewing a game of mine, I know that I'm still terrible at the game.

I'm confused by the analysis and I was wondering if someone could explain it to me.

it says that C4 is a book move but also says I missed a really nice but hard to find move.

Is it showing me the move that I missed and if so where is it on the screen and what move is it?

Thanks.

No, it's not showing the move it mentions.

It should if you toggle Show Best Moves to on.

Hi Martin, thank you for replying, I actually have that setting enabled and it still doesn't show me.

Hmm, maybe it doesn't on book moves meh

"missed a really nice but hard to find move" is just nonsense. You can't take anything seriously that Game Review says. It is nonsense by a very simple and very dumb script. It has nothing to do with real chess analysis.

You have to switch to the Analysis tab (top of the screen) to see what the engine actually is saying.

No, it's not "nonsense". It's also not a "very simple and very dumb script". You did indeed miss a better move (and it's not that hard to find) 5.Nxf7!+/- winning a pawn.

In this case, Qxe4 also wins a pawn. Nxf7 is better, of course, as it also puts the black king in danger. Both moves are much better than Nc4, but the "Game review" of course has no way to know this or to communicate this. It works with a very narrow, pre-programmed set of phrases, and if none of those fit the position, well, it's too bad for the position.
