Chess or checkers?

Given that this is a chess website, I'd say most people would prefer chess. Either way I find chess to be much more interesting, it has more combinations and various ideas in the game. Just for one, the pieces move differently and have different worths. I bet that with the right study and opponents checkers can be a quite mind challenging interesting game, but does not have that much variety. In chess we have the very different opening, middlegame, and endgame in which pieces each have different purposes. In checkers those stages exist but it's always with the same moving pieces and I'm sure that there can't be way too much variety in the opening. Checkers seem to be extremely straightforward where you play with only one idea in mind, jumping over pieces. With chess the gap between positional and material advantage is much wider, and also we have the goal of checkmating the King.
Do you prefer chess or checkers?(in england they are called draughts) There are pros and cons to each game. I myself like chess more, because it takes more brainpower.
