chess software

What chess software can i use like normal chessboard for my old chessbooks? with no engines, no brains..just like a virtual chessboard, i can move both white and black pieces. thanks and more power

I don't think there is chess software just to put some pieces on a board.  Maybe a project of someone or a PGN viewer can help you?

thanks for your early reply... there are tons of chess ebooks can be downloaded...free or paid if there is no such chess software, how about those who have chess ebooks in their computers, laptops, smartphone, ipods do they have to use the conventional chessboard for them to analyse what is in the book they've downloaded?

How about something like Chess Pad?

Any of the mainstream chess playing programs or databases should allow you to switch off the engine and switch into human vs human mode, which would give you what you want.
