That last move is called en-passant and is completely legal.

So, when Sapp corrected you about en passant, he was wrong?

Bugnotaur

Looks suspicious.

I think we better call 1-800-ChessCheat, the free 24 hour chess cheat hotline you call when a computer on chess.com cheats you.

God I hate cheaters, especially such computerized cheats like this capture of the pawn in passing from the 6th rank! I've seen it before and I'm sure we'll see it again.

Be ever watchful and vigilant against the cheating of the chess.com computers!!

Zerrogi

Don't worry, ishaanc.  En-Passant makes fools of us all sometimes....

And I get cheated all the time by both computers and live opponents that move their king AND rook in the same move! wtf?!?!

siamesenightmare93

This one real jerk of a guy I played insisted on moving his pawns two spaces instead of one. The truth is that there are some people who just cannot play the game of chess fair and they need to be stopped!

ivandh

Hell, once a guy moved his knight, and said, "checkmate!" and he must have paid off the TD because he agreed. But there was no way he could even check me, my king was surrounded by my other pieces! Talk about getting swindled...

Ishaanc, today I have discovered the perfect group for people like you to join. Here it is:

Edit: At the moment there is no admin so you can't join but that may be fixed soon.

Hey, be kind to the OP. He's obviously a beginner at chess.

Once he's been corrected, politely, and apparently refuses to accept this correction about the rules of chess, he gets no slack.

MyCowsCanFly

I think most computers are honest and don't cheat.

verticle5

deep blue... collar crime.  Everyone knows chess is run by the mafia nowadays.  show me one chess game that isn't fulll of cheating.

Nothing makes chess cheating more obvious than punctuation. Everytime I make a move that the computer gives a '?'  that means it is pretty much asking how I was able to cheat so good and come up with a move that profound.  Yeah.. I have to cheat too to try and keep up with the computer. so sue me..

YES DUH

Wow, this is a text-book example of ignorance.

1) You don't know something.

2) You act wrongly, unfairly or illegitimately because of that.(calling computer a cheater)

3) You don't question yourself when you're corrected.

4) You act arrogantly and dismiss & attack people who correct you.

TheGrobe

1 and 2 are ignorance.

3 and 4 are hubris.

I disagree. I think those two are also included in the concept of ignorance.

TheGrobe

Ignorance is when you don't know any better.
