the game went Bf4 0-0 and then h3. the annotations to h3 says " for the retreat Bf4-h2 in case of Nh5 to preserve the bishop on to keep the threat e4-e5. but it seems to me that after Bf4 black can play Nh5 straight away and get the bishop? why doesnt he play h3 before Bf4?

it helped alot. after knight to h5 i only considered Bg3 where it got exchanged and Bc1 with repetition and never considered d2 changing plans. i guess i was to obsessed with getting piece domination on the kingside.i tried the position after Bd2 in fritz and it moved rook to e1 and did the epawnpush without backing of the bishop leaving black with knight on the edge. case solved

My assumption is that Black would be concerned about losing his castling privileges after 1... Nh5 2 Qb5+.

yes black loses castlingrights and i would have done the move have i found it. but fritz recommend continuing with the plan of e5push. maybe its better to follow the plan through to keep the pieces coordinated
