Could there be a chess position where every legal move is chess.com "brilliant?"

Sort:
Fire

just wondering if that were to exist, what it would look like

alphaous

Wow that'd be insane I'm trash at compositions but i'm sure somebody could do it

Fire

not all moves but there are quite a few moves here that are brilliant, as long as you don't mess up their pawn structure or sac any pieces

huh, idk why I didn't get notification for that

alphaous

Ok this is the rather tacky bones of one such position, just cuz there's only one legal move doesn't negate the brilliancy!

alphaous

That took me like 10 minutes nervous.pngkull

alphaous

Wait it's forced not brilliant crap

bollingerr

nice blog!

BoxJellyfishChess

If this article https://support.chess.com/article/2965-how-are-moves-classified-what-is-a-blunder-or-brilliant-and-etc#:~:text=We%20replaced%20the%20old%20Brilliant,had%20not%20found%20the%20move.

is to be trusted, then it would be impossible for every move in a position to be considered chess.com brilliant, as the description seems to imply that one of the things that makes a move "brilliant" is the lack of other good options.

colecollector

I tried for a few minutes couldn't find anything, best i could come up with was this:

None of those moves are brilliant though

colecollector

It's probably impossible because brilliant moves have to be the only good move in the position

How is it possible that a 2000 took longer to realize it than me, a noob?

Bold of you to assume I'm not a noob, also I think I left for a few minutes before double-checking how I messed up

James_Bartos

It has a lot of brilliant moves

ThrillerFan

Every legal move by Black here is brilliant!

BotvinnikTal

huh

lj6-echec

I think that in both cases both shots are brilliant.

ChessDude009

Simply put, no.
