Depth Length

I would like to hear some suggestions from chess players when analyzing games with the depth length. I have Komodo 8 (hope to get 9 soon). I downloaded all my chess.com games and will be having Komodo analyze them all. First I want to run my analyse for tactics purely so I set the blunder check threshold to 140. They say 1.4 is a winning advantage so to me it makes sense to set the threshold to this instead of 100.

I know Komodo works a little bit differently then other chess engines as it analyses by position of pieces and not just chess move brute force. Currently I have the depth setting at 18 but not sure if this is long enough. Does anyone suggest a particular depth setting and a good valid reason for that particular one. Thanks.

I don't have any experience with Komodo but I have been setting my depth to 21 when doing my analysis. In some positions, it probably should go longer but for the most part I think that is deep enough.
