Did my opponent cheat?
Taking a consistent amount of time on every move, even simple ones like a mate in one, is a strong indicator of engine use in online chess. A human's thinking time varies with the complexity of the move, whereas a cheater [link removed; no advertising - V39] using an engine will have a uniform delay because they must spend time inputting the move, waiting for the engine's response, and then executing it. He almost certainly cheated, and he also falls into the category of what you can call a "dumb" cheater. The kind that gets caught easily, tossed straight into the trashcan of online chess. They don’t think things through, the moves are way above their usual level, the patterns don’t add up, and it’s painfully obvious to anyone watching.
