Did my opponent cheat?

This was a 850-900 rated 5 minute blitz game. My opponent took a strange amount of time on each move. I was dead lost and frustrated for getting so outplayed, I just gifted him a mate in 1 and he still took several seconds on the mate in 1 like he had every other move. Does anyone see anything else suspicious about this game?

Taking a consistent amount of time on every move, even simple ones like a mate in one, is a strong indicator of engine use in online chess. A human's thinking time varies with the complexity of the move, whereas a cheater [link removed; no advertising - V39] using an engine will have a uniform delay because they must spend time inputting the move, waiting for the engine's response, and then executing it. Thanks

In todays chess to many chess cheaters are there

He almost certainly cheated, and he also falls into the category of what you can call a "dumb" cheater. The kind that gets caught easily, tossed straight into the trashcan of online chess. They don’t think things through, the moves are way above their usual level, the patterns don’t add up, and it’s painfully obvious to anyone watching.

Good that they were caught. For future reference:
