Double Queen Sacrifice

Sort:

Through my many years of playing chess I've had the opportunity to make some very elegant queen sacrifices, but this is the first time I sacrificed a queen and after being declined was able to sacrifice it again in a more eloquent manner. Now, my opponent did make a couple of blunders during the opening and middlegame, but it doesn't take away the splendor of this combination. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Beautiful spin on a smothered mate!

bolshevikhellraiser

Thank you. Yes, this is the first time I accomplished a smothered mate with the involvement of a bishop. Most of the time it's with a queen and knight starting off with a double check, then sacrificing the queen, followed up with the knight checkmating.

The combination is marred by White being completly lost anyway. After 21. Qxc3 Rxb1 also wins 22. Qxc5+  (22. h3 Qxf2+ 23. Kh2 Bd6+ 24. Qg3 Bxg3+ 25. Kh1 Rxf1#)  22...Qxc5.

In your line 22. Qc2 Bxf2+ 23. Qxf2 Nxf2 winds up with more material. 24. Rxb8 Rxb8 and the knight does not even fall.

I have to disagree with you because there's a rook on h8 that's not developed or being used, and when you have a piece that's not being used it's like not having it at all unless you make it to endgame,so my lead in material has nothing to do with the soundness of the sacrifice, and in my line I demonstrate whites best move in response of the threat of the sacrifice, given the off chance that he was able to foresee it.

I have no idea what this is suppose to mean. Maybe it is because I exclude combinations that can be easily calculated from my defininition of sacrifices? You are also speaking as if the rook on h8 was entombed. Surely you noticed that your extra bishop and knight were the driving force behind the combination right?

nice idea....

bolshevikhellraiser

@aggressivesociopath I have nothing more to say to you. You're obviously arguing for the sake of it. Maybe you don't know what it means, because you have no logical or common sense.Yes. my extra bishop and knight were the deciding factor of the mate, but I would still have them whether he blundered his pieces or not. Find somewhere else to troll!

aggressivesociopath

I am not arguing for the sake of it. Nor am I claiming that the combination is unsound or even that it is not the best line. I am pointing out that White was completly lost anyway. The game showcase forum is where you are suppose to brag without anyone being critical, and if you posted there I would not have bothered you.

Are you really refusing to acknowledge that two pieces are winning? Do you think you need to reach the endgame for two pieces to matter? Are you refusing to acknowledge that Black is winning because the rook on h 8 has not been devolped yet? If the answer to all of those questions is no, then the post I was refering to makes no sense whatseoever.

12.Nb5 a6...........what if Q*b5

is there any attack comes after that move.....?

bolshevikhellraiser

Like I said I have nothing more to say to you. I'm not going to feed into your misery. Jmb said it was a beautiful spin on a smothered mate and his rating far exceeds yours, which is 2200+.I mean your criticism isn't even constructive, Its just comments from the peanut gallery, so get lost.

bolshevikhellraiser

@ blaze No, there's not. Qxb5 was a missed move but I'm glad I missed it, because if I hadn't I wouldn't have had the chance to mate like i did.

aggressivesociopath

My last attempt to treat you as a human being.

You won this game because your opponent hung two pieces in the late opening early middlegame. Being happy that you missed Qxb5 is a really poor attitude, if you want to improve.

I don't feel like getting jmb involved in this conversation, but if you must ask him when he thinks White's position became lost. Ask him if anything I said is a false statement.

I have actually been rather careful to avoid insulting you, but you are speaking nonsense. Where is the constructive criticism in this thread? Blaze pointed out that you failed to win a piece when it was placed en prise. JMB offered congregulations. What kind of criticism do you think is constructive? That you opponent should have avoided hanging pieces? That the mundan 21... Rxb1 is also winning, but White can delay things by sacing the queen? Are you sure you wanted criticism of any kind in the first place? You seem hostile to the concept.

Like I said, this is my last attempt to treat you as a human being. It also will not be the first time that I have been blocked by a retard that insists on speaking nonsense. Trust me, blocking me is pointless unless you are planing on baiting me back to this thread.
