I seriously thought about f4, but then there is Qxh6 and then there is a huge wall of white pawns on the queen side, so I backed down. It looks like you're right if they go after the pawn. Then after f3 the rook has to capture or it's mate. If the rook goes to f3 to stop the pawn, Qg3+.
I should have thought about f4 more!

I offered a draw here. I couldn't figure out what else there was to do. What do you think? Oh, and they refused to accept the draw several times, so I had to go with the repetition draw.
