Engine Suggesting Queen Sacrifice with Opponent's Queen Near My King

Hello, greetings. I usually agree with the engine's postmatch analysis, but this one has me perplexed. Why is the rook move considered only "Good" while moving my Queen to be sacrificed considered "Best?"

One second glance, I see that the pawn couldn't take on d4 because it would allow check by the rook, but still I would prefer to attack this (it was a 10 min blitz) with my black bishop or get a rook on Rank 1... Attacking the middle with two major pieces (one of which is protecting your King) seems a little strange. What theory am I missing here?

After ... Qd4, how does white prevent mate on a1?

Very True, I as usual don't look for other lines when I'm set on a path. I tend to push that line until an equal trade or win. But of course I shouldn't miss mate!
