Fight for Draw?

Given the way the game was going and the strength of my opponent, could I have fought for a draw?

I thought that they would either promote a pawn or be up a rook. Either would one would have been devasting at this point in the game. I hope this isn't a case where I resigned too early.

They say that when there are two connected passed pawns on the 6th rank, that is worth a rook. Your resignation was therefore appropriate.

Im basically the same though I always respect my opponent and resign when a game is obviously lost.

I would have made them play for the queen. Not many people could do it.

i think you did what you toughed it was correct to do in that proper situation, and i know that if you knew that there were the slim chance to win you would have fought for it , but since you knew it was not really possible you decided in respect for you and your opponent to resign. you did OK.

P.S: btw check the move list.

Thank you Wizbit and Azoth!

I guess being a rook down would not have been the end of the world.

My opponent actually asked me why I resigned. Now I know what he was thinking.
