My comments:
1. I think the Catalan opening is better than KIA, for players of all levels. Key differences are that White has a central presence, and more opportunities to increase pressure on squares like c6.
2. I do not think 13 Qxd8 is good for you. It improves your opponent's rook and doesn't help you otherwise. In a position like this where you have an advantage, you do not need to rush to simplify.
3. I prefer 15 Ne3 to 15 e3
4. After Bg4 the e pawn is undefended and you can win this pawn with 16 Rxd8 Rxd8 17 Bxf6 Bxf6 18 Bxe4.
5. I agree that 17 Bxf3 is good structurally for you.
6. 31...Nxa2 is an error, and you can win a piece with 32 c3.
7. Looks like 34 Ne4+ is more accurate than Nf7+
This is my first OTB tournament game, and while I thought I played well, I really struggled to put away my opponent who has a rating of 1238. I've included a lot of what I was thinking as the game progressed and I'd like to read what you think about where both my opponent and I could have played stronger.
