I'm wondering what you guys think about my blatant disregard for protecting my King in this game.
A more interesting (or puzzling) question is what you think of it? Sounds like you've already got your mind made up...which makes me wonder about this whole thing.
This is a rather disobliging response. I'm posting here to learn. I'm new to chess and would certainly expect more from a NM than a cutting remark such as this. Certainly you have more to offer than that...
Intro: I'm new to chess, I mean two or three weeks new (I've known the rules for years, but I was a 1200-1300 player when I signed up here a couple weeks ago). I don't know a single opening yet (maybe someday when I get time) and my endgame is TERRIBLE. My rating has gone up about 250 points since I started reading some basic principles the past two weeks or so (I'm learnign alot, thanks guys) and I'm wondering what you guys think about my blatant disregard for protecting my King in this game. I've recently found myself in games very similar to this one on several occasions where I don't think I intentionally ignore castling the king, but I keep seeing holes in my opponents board that allows me to push him further and further back into his territory and I can't help but just push all my pawns forward and leave the king hanging & unprotected in the center. So far it's not only been working, but I've been destroying my opponents with it. However, I haven't played anyone good yet and I fear that I'm going to really be in for it once I do. What do you guys think about my approach in this game regarding the advancement of all my pawns and neglecting of my king?
