Forking

Bro I've played chess.com since last year or so and I've never seen someone fork me. Only the bots do, and that is usually their use of the knight. Please answer why this happens.

A fork is a common tactical pattern and perhaps you aren't noticing them as frequently as they show up in your games. Forget an entire year, here is one of your chess games from earlier today and your opponent forked you with a non-knight piece on move 17...Qe4. This move forks your e3 Bishop and h1 Rook. Granted, your opponent probably didn't notice either, because 18. Be2 addressed neither of these pieces and the opponent captured your Bishop instead of the Rook, but the point stands that tactics probably show up in your games more often than you notice.

You can also scroll further down to ALL games played on chess.com through the game archive. The default is you "my games" (your own), but you can also choose "Others' games" and search the games of anyone you type in the username for.

Visiting their profile shows their recent games though.

You can also simulate a game on the top bar over the words.
