Game 9

Recent home game. Did poorly out of the opening, fought my way to equality, then blundered the game. Comments welcome. happy.png

Notes:

  • Don't let emotions get in the way of playing good moves; clear thinking is sacrosanct in chess.
  • Don't be scared of every potential threat. Here I got scared of a threat that should have been easily countered, and gave away the exchange as a result.
  • In the Bird's try not to let your opponent get in e4 unchallenged. The same is true in the Dutch (except with e5, obviously), which is essentially a reversed Bird's. The f and e pawns do well to control the centre, or can start an attack with f5 (like in the Grand Prix Sicilian).
