Game Analytics

The computer recommended I give away my rook and then my night to go on to lose the game. I backed it up and it changed its mind after the third time and didn't give away my rook. I'm finding flaws all over this site! I'm spending hours in study thinking the level 10 analytics will show me the best moves. I'm positive it showed me bogus moves and it put +3.5 in front of the rook give away? Like I said, I played it out and then it gave away my bishop, and then lost all my pawns. I took a pic but don't know how to paste a pic on here. My question is why is the computer analytics messing up???

You can post a picture by using the little icon that looks like a tree. (You have to save the picture somewhere first to be able to upload it.)

You can use the little chessboard icon tool to post the position.  If you have the pgn score of the game, you can post the whole game or , if you don't, just post the position you are talking about.

click on the question mark on the tool bar.

I have a pic I took with my iPad only at this point. Is there a way to copy and paste it? Either way, the computer on level 10 was dead wrong. There is no doubt! It gave away the room, then the bishop and if you follow to the end it loses. This from a winning position. See my other posts and it clearly shows chess.com has multiple flaws. When you spend hours studying and learn your teacher is broken it really sucks!

As to the analysis, I wouldn't trust the engine here very much. You'll get much better analysis from an engine running on a PC (or probably even your iPad with something like Stockfish).

I would sure like to see what he is looking at.  I don't even know what feature he is talking about when he says he ran it three times. You can get a post game analysis, but there's no way to back up the analysis, etc.  and as far as I know it wouldn't vary at all even if you ran it again.

You can back up the analysis and it often changes the recommended moves. Chess.com? I paid for analytics that give my pieces away on level 10? Wow!

Show the position. A rook sac can still be a candidate move.

But as stated earlier, it is better to use a client-side engine, as it can search much deeper. Chess.com analysis computers do not go deeper than 14 ply at best.

I think the one in the mobile app (which I'm pretty sure is being used) must be client side, just not really that strong.

I am using the app. It does seem to make some mistakes. The article mentioned above says wait 24 hrs? I've never done that. I'm looking for real time analytics. It's decent and I can't come close to beating the level 10 computer, but in the example I used, the computer was on ACID!!!! Riding the white horse! Trust me, it was absurd. You'd think my iPad Air and their computer would just give the perfect move everytime. Giving away two major pieces was rediculus. It finally changed its mind after playing it through a few times and didn't give my rook away, but it had been hours of study for me, so I let it go.

notmtwain: I finally see what your talking about, as I logged in with my computer. You have to use a computer to see the stuff you mentioned. I usually use my IPAD. Tks!
